Lakeview Marina is located at Lake View launch Area on Lakeview Road. It is located in the middle of the lake.
Be careful with GPS! There is a huge error that can take you up to Squaw Valley and put you on a lengthy detour.
When driving from the south, take I-5 to CA 99 North headed to Bakersfield/Fresno. Coming into the Fresno area, take CA 41 East, then quickly merge right into CA 180 East Kings Canyon. Turn Left/North onto Academy Ave at the 180/Academy intersection. *Follow Direction for EVERYONE
When driving from the North, If on I-5 South take HWY 152 Los Banos to CA HWY 99 South to Fresno. In Fresno, take CA 180 East toward Kings Canyon. Exit Left/North on Academy Avenue.
Did you miss the Academy intersection? Take Piedra Road off HWY 180 East. Turn right at the T, onto Trimmer Springs Road.
Did you miss Piedra Road? Then take the left turn after Minkler, to stay on HWY 180. Turn left/North onto Frankwood, Turn Right onto Piedra Road, Turn Right after crossing the Piedra Bridge onto Trimmer Springs Road.
*EVERYONE - Turn Right/East onto Belmont Ave at the intersection of Academy and Belmont. Continue East on Belmont; it will become Trimmer Springs Road without having to make a turn. You will be on a single lane road with no passing. Please pull over for faster vehicles. You will pass Kings River Packing Station and then see the river on the right. The road will wind up a grade to the lake. If you are headed to the first launch ramp, yield right on Sunnyslope and take it to the roads end. If you headed to another launch area, don’t be alarmed at not seeing the lake, it will be several miles before it opens up to a view.
There are 4 launch ramps. In order, starting at the dam and going to the river inlet are: Deer Creek, Island Park, Lake View, and Trimmer. Deer Creek and Lake View stay open year round. Island Park and Trimmer close when lake levels drop below the length of the ramp.
Pine Flat Lake Marina has Supreme and Unleaded Gasoline for vessels. I forgot Store has Supreme and Unleaded Gasoline for vehicles. Both are located in the Deer Creek Recreation Area. There is no Diesel in the area.
Nothing is close. We recommend to pack to be self sufficient before coming up. Both marinas and the I forgot Store have convenience items. Sanger and Clovis, the two closest towns, are at least 30 minutes away.
There is Blossom Trail Café for Breakfast and lunch at the corner of Academy and Belmont. The Schoolhouse Tavern is located on Frankwood and HWY 180.
Squaw Valley has Bear Mountain Pizza.
While a getting a temporary slip may be a convenience, there are restrictions. An overnight spot does not give you permission to hang out on the docks, stay the night, or fish in the marina. This is just a place to overnight your vessel on the water at your own risk. You are not guaranteed a parking spot during the day; they may be used for temporary parking for up to 20 minutes. You are not guaranteed entry to the marina after business hours. A gate key may be loaned depending on the circumstances. A key is an additional $20 cash only deposit. You provide your own ropes and bumpers. Available spots vary at the two marinas from slips with fingers to side ties. Two wave runners may substitute for 1 vessel. Slip size is typically 8’-9’ wide. Slip availability is limited, especially for larger size vessels. Lakeview Marina prefers you reserve ahead. Pine Flat Lake Marina is on a first come, first serve basis.
We try to accommodate any size vessel from ski boats to large houseboats. In order to get a wet slip at the marina, a boat owner must show that the boat is clean and in seaworthy condition. The lessee must make timely payments to the marina, maintain and prove current insurance and vessel registration. The marina rules must be followed to retain a slip. These rules encompass a variety of aspects from personal behavior to boat maintenance and usage. The marina maintains the right to refuse service to any customer.
Annual slips start May 1 and end April 30th. Boat owners who have maintained a slip for a year may split payments after the first year. 1st payment is for May 1 to October 1 and 2nd payment is for Nov 1 to April 30th. A 30 day notice of non renewal will be accepted from current paid boat owners. Boats with no fees due may must pull their boat out before April 30. Notice must be given to avoid accumulating late fees.
Boat owners selling their boat, must notify the marina and introduce potential buyers to the marina owners before a sale is finalized. The marina is looking to see that the potential buyer can meet our criteria and understands all the aspects of owning a boat and leasing a slip.
Sellers must divulge debt owed and not pass slip debts on to new boat owner unless the buyer agrees to pay the marina what is owed before taking possession of the boat.
Severely delinquent boats will be liened and impounded. A lien impairs the transfer of a property title between owners. If a boat has a lien against it, and the boat owner wants to sell the vessel, he must first discharge the lien by paying off the amount he owes or negotiating with the lien holder to extinguish the lien through a settlement offer. In general, the sale of an asset usually means the lien is paid off as a condition of sale, but if the lien is worth more than the boat, then the owner may find he cannot lawfully transfer ownership of the boat except at a significant loss.
Sellers will not be issued slip payment refunds. Any paid slip fees by the seller will pass to the new boat owner and the seller has the right to add that at face value to the selling price of their vessel. New slip leases must sign a moorage agreement with the marina and pay a prorated 1 year slip fee which will bring them to paid until the end of April the following year.

The resort was built in the 1970’s on an eastern facing hillside overlooking the lake. It is hot and dry in the summer with a beautiful view of Pine Flat. There are two buildings at Lakeview; the 12 room motel and the suites building. Three suites are located upstairs about 200 feet downhill from the motel, right along the launch ramp. The motel room doors and front windows face the lake. The suites have a side view of the lake, which is still very nice. The suites have a 5’ deep, carpeted balcony with seating and a bistro table. For suite guests there is a side patio downstairs with more seating, tables and BBQs.
On the outside of the motel there is small lawn and patio with bistro tables and umbrellas and three community BBQs. Outside power at the motel and suites is available close to the parking for those wanting to charge a boat battery or air up an inflatable. There are also several hoses as well.
ADA accessibility is limited- at the motel, there are 4-5 steps to get into the rooms. The suites have a full flight of stairs.
Be aware that parking is limited in high water times (usually May – July). During low water times, parking is off pavement (usually mid July-April). Parking and launching is paid to the Army Corps of Engineers- $5 cash per day/per vehicle. These payments are put in a drop box at the top of each launch ramp. Annual passes may be purchased directly from a Private parking accommodates visitors during high water levels. Prices vary but most are around $10 per vehicle and $10 per trailer. Marina owners can park 1 vehicle per slip for free on Marina Property. Family and friends of boat owners should pay.
Parking at Lakeview Motel is on gravel in front of rooms. At the suites, there is asphalt. Be courteous of other guests if parking a vehicle and boat trailer as this takes up most of the room at the suites. There is additional parking elsewhere on the property.
